YAVUZ

Dört arkadaşımla birlikte geliştirdiğimiz Yavuz insansız hava aracını TEKNOFEST 2024 İnsanlık Yararına Teknoloji Yarışması’nın Sosyal İnovasyon Kategorisi için hazırladık.

Yavuz’un hikâyesi aslında bir ihtiyaçtan doğdu. Akdeniz’de yaşanan mülteci geçişleri sırasında meydana gelen can kayıplarını en aza indirmek amacıyla tasarladık. Amacımız, denizdeki botları tespit edip bu bilgiyi güvenilir bir şekilde Vessel Finder uygulamasına ileterek hayat kurtaracak bir sistem geliştirmekti.

Uzun süren hazırlık sürecinin ardından 4 Ocak 2025’te gerçekleşen finalde jüri karşısına çıktık. Sunumumuzu en iyi şekilde aktarmak için günlerce çalıştık; proje geliştirmeden tasarıma, rapordan teknik detaylara kadar her adımda ekip ruhunu hissettik.

Ve o gün geldiğinde, tüm emeklerimizin karşılığını aldık. En İyi Sunum Ödülü ve 1.‘lik Ödülü ile sahneye çıkmak, hem bizim hem de projemiz için unutulmaz bir an oldu.

Bu süreç bana sadece teknik bilgi değil; ekip çalışmasının, sabrın ve inancın ne kadar değerli olduğunu da öğretti. Yavuz, sadece bir insansız hava aracı değil — geleceğe dair umutlarımızın ve insanlık yararına teknolojiler üretme hayalimizin somut bir simgesi oldu.

Together with four teammates, I developed the Yavuz UAV and prepared it for the Social Innovation category of the TEKNOFEST 2024 Technology for Humanity Competition.

Yavuz’s story grew out of a real need. We designed it with one goal in mind: to reduce the loss of life during refugee crossings in the Mediterranean. The idea was to build a system that could detect boats at sea and relay that information reliably to the Vessel Finder platform — a system that could genuinely save lives.

After a long preparation process, we stood before the jury at the final held on January 4, 2025. We worked for days to get our presentation exactly right — from project development and design to the report and every technical detail. Every step of the way, the team spirit carried us.

And when the day came, all that work paid off. Walking up on stage with both the Best Presentation Award and 1st Place was an unforgettable moment — for us and for the project.

This process gave me far more than technical knowledge. It taught me the real value of teamwork, patience, and believing in what you’re building. Yavuz isn’t just a UAV — it became a tangible symbol of our hopes for the future and our dream of building technology that genuinely helps people.
